Time for a baby

I figured I better go ahead & do a quick blog before life as we've known it for the last 5 years gets turned upside down! Right now, as long as nothing happens before, I'm scheduled to be induced on Monday! I'll be 39 weeks, which is 2 weeks farther than when I had Reid, so I am very pleased. Part of me hopes I go into labor on my own, but the whole scheduling thing is so nice.

I still cannot believe we are about to have a little girl in this house. I know 2 males that are going to be wrapped around her finger. Nick Miller is bad enough with Reid. It's gonna be all over with Scarlet;) I never imagined Reid would be this excited about having a sister(after the initial shock of not getting 2 babies, of course:)). He is constantly making her things, kissing on my belly, & telling me about dreams he has about her. It's so sweet.

We've been fitting in plenty of "ice cream" dates. The sweets are about to STOP! I'm officially addicted.

Spring soccer started a couple weeks ago, & so far it's been a TON better than in the fall. He seems to really be enjoying it. I love watching him play.

I've taken all of 3 belly pics this pregnancy, but I thought I should at least document one...for all 3 of my blog readers out there! I think this was at 34 or 35 weeks, so just imagine a little bit bigger belly & some gorgeous cankles to go along with it now:)

Here are some pics I took today of Scarlet's room. Pink in my house has been hard to get use to, but I love it. It's so peaceful in there to me.

Slightly Dramatic

This video is classic Reid. This was back in October, the day we found out we were having a girl. From day 1, if you asked Reid if he wanted a brother or a sister, he would say "both". There was no changing his mind. He was dead set that there were going to be two babies, so his reaction was no surprise. And in case you're wondering why he has a blue nose...we had just picked him up from school where he had been "sniffing" smelly markers:)

It's Me

I know. I can't believe it either. I've thought about blogging a few times over the past 8 1/2 months, but that's about as far as I got. I'm thinking this may be a New Year's resolution for me, even though I'm not a fan of New Year's resolutions. Hard to explain, but I've been feeling more like myself lately than I have in a really long time, & blogging was something I enjoyed doing, so I'm going to do it!

I'm pretty excited about 2014 & everything that God has in store for us. The last 2 years have put me to the test on so many levels. Did I pass every time? Nope. Definitely not. But God's mercy & grace are overflowing. It never runs out. Never! I'm still trying to fathom His goodness. It's more than I can handle at times. I guess He's got to bring you through the fire to refine you. All shiny & refined is not how I'm describing myself, but I'm definitely a changed woman, & thank goodness for that!

So, I guess I will just mention some of the highlights from when I blogged last. I haven't been the best picture taker, so I'll just pick some of my favorites from what I do have.

MAY

Reid turned 4 & we celebrated with a very low key birthday party at one of our favorite parks. It was perfect. I'm not risking the threat of rain again though. Next party will be indoors...at Pump It Up to be exact per Reid's request. He started talking about his next party at the end of this one:)

JUNE

On Father's Day weekend we rented a cabin at Jelly Stone park in Pelahatchie. So.Much.Fun. It was a much needed getaway for us, & we really had the best time. I highly recommend this place for families!

JULY

We went to the beach the week of the 4th, & I majorly slacked on picture taking.

AUGUST

K4!! Another great year so far. I cannot say enough good things about Reid's school. I am so thankful to be able to send him there. He'll be there next year too for their kindergarten program before moving on.

Soccer started. Our first organized sport. I don't have too much to say...its was interesting:)

We had a great group of boys that we'll hopefully be playing with again in the spring.

SEPTEMBER

Nothing to say here! There's always next year, right?

NOVEMBER

Reid ran in his first 1 mile fun run. He did great! His first words to me when he crossed the finish line, "Did I win mama?!"

Thanksgiving program

DECEMBER

We took a trip to Chattanooga as sort of a "last trip as a family of 3". We stayed 2 nights in an old train car that's been converted into a hotel room at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, & the next 2 nights in a cabin about an hour north on the Ocoee. Best trip ever. I daydream about it sometimes & wish we were still there:( We were able to fit so much stuff in, but it never felt like too much. The majority of pictures I took were from my phone, & I just realized that I haven't uploaded them yet. Therefore, I will share a few from my camera, & spare you the rest:)
